Ryan Odagawa
It’s been more than10 years since I started pencilling in the comics business. My dream job came true at the end of 1994 when I met Sarah Becker, who was an editor for my favorite comic at the time, Gen 13, which I eventually was able to draw in Wildstorm cards and comics.
I met her at a convention and then in early 1995 was offered an internship in San Diego at the prestigious Homage Studios (aka Wildstorm), home of the cream of the crop artists, Jim Lee, J. Scott Campbell, Travis Charest, among many others.
I eventually moved on to a staff position there and worked on various projects, one of which I’m most proud…Savant Garde. It was the first full comic and series I had ever done. Fortunately, I was able to put my two cents in and include characters I had created and story ideas I helped formulate.
Throughout the last 10 years, I’ve learned and experienced many things, both good and bad. But either way I think was for the best. Isn’t that what life’s about?
It’s been a while since I started drawing, but I’m just barely starting to feel comfortable to try and tell my own stories.
So stay tuned, I’m just getting started…again!
Thanks for joining me!
Ryan
